Big Future Predicted For Enjay

Cambridge trainer Roger James is predicting a big future for ultra-consistent four-year-old mare Enjay who won the Echoes Of Heaven At Linwood Park 2100 at Te Rapa today.

“I don’t say things lightly but I believe this mare is a Cups horse in the making,” said James.

“She has taken a while to mature but is now really starting to hit her straps,” James said.

“She has had a string of placings of late so deserved to win today’s race,” he said.

Her family is an outstanding one and has produced many high-class racehorses over the years.

“I’ve trained a few of the family and they do take time. I can see her being a mile and a half to a two mile horse and be dangers in a big race like that,” James said.

Enjay, by High Chaparral, notched her second win at Te Rapa for owners Brendon and Jo Lindsay but James says it is all still ahead of the mare.

Enjay was ridden by Opie Bosson and is owned by Brendon Lindsay.
