Smart mare Romantic Maid just needs a change in her racing fortunes to further her record.
“If she’d have had any luck in her last three starts she would have been back in winning form,” trainer Roger James said.
Successful in Sydney last season, Romantic Maid’s most recent appearances have resulted in minor placings at Te Rapa, Ellerslie and at Tauranga.
Meanwhile, stablemate Von Tunzelman was an impressive last-start winner over 2100m at the Bay of Plenty meeting.
“It was only his second run over a trip and we had to ride him a bit cautiously in his first go at Rotorua and another two strides he would have won that as well,” James said.
